Utila Travel Planner

Getting to Utila:

Honduras.
Guests arriving in San Pedro Sula on Saturday are greeted at the airport and transferred to a charter plane
that departs at 3:00 p.m. for Utila and is operated by Utila Air Service. Once you exit the customs area, you will turn right and go through glass doors where a Laguna Beach assistant will greet and assist you in boarding the charter flight.

The scenic charter flight from San Pedro Sula to Utila is a quick 30 minute flight. Once you arrive, you will be met by a staff member and transferred to the Laguna Beach Resort

Guests who arrive in San Pedro Sula after 3:00 p.m. will have to overnight in San Pedro Sula (at their own expense) and fly to Utila the next morning at no additional charge, charter flight will remain at $150 round trip. Due to airport regulations flights cannot fly in and out of Utila after dark.

Upon Arival and Departure

There is a $3.00 entry fee into Honduras and a $35.00 fee to exit Honduras. There are other incidental airport taxes with connecting local flights usually not exceeding $5.00. Suggestion: bring a few $1.00 bills for these fees and baggage handlers.

Please remember to reconfirm your air schedules 24-72 hours prior to departure and do let us know of any schedule changes.

You will not need cash on your person while on the island, all things can be charged to your room. Please advise the office staff if your child is not allowed to charge to the room.


Alcohol & sodas are not included as part of your package, however you can purchase drinks from the bar & restaurant during the week which will be added to your room total and can be settled at the end of the week.

All adult divers must use a dive computer. You can rent these for the week at an additional cost. Kids will be provided all gear needed. However we highly recommend for their own comfort, if you own your own dive gear, bring it with you.
Fins Masks and snorkels will be provided to keep and take home for all SASY and Seal Team kids.
Rental Masks, fins, and snorkels will be provided to all Jr. Open Water kids and certified kids to use for the week.
A SeaLife digital under water camera, along with a Kids Sea Camp T-shirt, PADI Tote bag and PADI hats will be provided to all certified diver kids.
SASY and Seal Team kids will have a fun treasure hunt on Sunday where fun prizes will be won.
Adults will receive a PADI and Kids Sea Camp giveaway items for participating in our Poetry program. As well as a SeaLife DC1200 give away!!!

What to Pack:

Here is a list of some of the things I bring for my kids. I hope you will find it useful.

•Passports or birth certificates
•c- cards for divers
•a camera & film or camera memory card
•batteries, music
•Sea Sick or motion sickness pills, this should be taken upon landing in Belize for 1.5 hour crossing to island if you are prone to sea sickness.
•Tums if you have a sensitive stomach. DAN card
•Conditioner, skin lotion and sun block, toothpaste, bug spray, vitamins, band-aids, children's Tylenol, ear drops, soft icepack
•Four or more bathing suits, shorts, t-shirts, 1 sweatshirt, sandals, sneakers, and emergency contact numbers.
•Original copies of all your forms and waivers should be brought with you please. We do our best to send all information to the Island, but sometimes that does not always happen. Please bring your forms with you.
If you child is on medication and participating in a diving activity, Or is participating in the Jr. Open Water course, you must have a note from a doctor stating your child is fit and approved for him or her to scuba dive. Do not get to the island and not have a doctor's letter for participation. All forms and waivers must be filled out and sent in ASAP. These forms are located on the Kids Sea Camp website, www.kidsseacamp.com, under the reservations page on the left side on the dive waiver forms link. Please contact Kids Sea Camp if you need assistance with this.

Please make sure you go through your package, fill out forms and read your information.

Make sure we have all names and ages correct. Please advise us of any medical issues, or Special days such as a birthday, anniversary, etc that may occur during your stay. Please contact us with any questions.

Please reconfirm flights, look over documents, and make sure we have your flight information correct. I recommend you be at least 2 hours early at the airport and have everyone's passports ready. Although we do our best to ensure everything runs smoothly, there sometimes may be circumstances beyond our control. Please have snacks packed for the flight and be prepared, should there be delays or a lost bag.
