Laguna Beach Resort's dive facility is one of the finest in the Caribbean. From the fleet of Newton custom dive boats to its top quality dive gear and convenient dive gear storage area, this resort has thought of everything. Each of the resort's Newton Dive boats are equipped with tank racks, giant stride platform, a unique slant ladder, fresh water showers, a head, and rinse tanks.

The reef is located approximately 150 yards from the Resort beach.

The dive begins with a wall dive with drops from 15' to 100', featuring bluebell tunicates, stingrays, and an abundance of juveniles due to the proximity to the mangrove lagoon. Following the tongue & groove coral formations towards the shallows takes you past abundant elkhorn & pillar coral. Particularly during night dives expect many invertebrates, including lobster, shrimp and squid, as well as occasional sightings of both moray and conga eels. Continue into shallows towards the beach to find urchins & conch hiding in the turtle grass. Exit onto the beach just a short 10 yards from the restaurant.

Utila diving accommodates divers of all levels and preferences with over 60 moorings around the island as well as several seamounts. Beginners will feel comfortable with minimal currents and shallow reefs while experienced divers will enjoy walls ranging steep and deep to moderate and gently sloping. The top of the reef at almost every dive site is around 15 feet—a perfect safety stop!

Utila is one of the Caribbean’s top destinations for species diversity. The island boasts a variety of macro creatures as well as the biggest fish in the sea—the elusive whale shark! Bring your wide angle lenses if you have one!
