Bonaire shopping hits the big time with a new Dutch supermarket! The new Van den Tweel superstore has opened on Kaya Industria in Kralendijk, bringing Bonaire visitors and residents the island's largest and most complete food shopping experience. With over 35,000 square feet of shopping, warehouse and service space, Bonaire's newest supermarket offers a wide variety of products from Holland, the USA and South America including specialty meats, cheeses, produce and bakery items. Highlights include:

Butcher shop
Café and bar
Laundry and dry clean service
Deli and rotisserie
Hours of operation are from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. With constant deliveries by both air and sea, Van den Tweel plans to maintain a well stocked, reasonably priced and quality driven shopping alternative for Bonaire.

Bonaire is a Dutch Island, dry and breezy with little rainfall. Sitting just forty miles north of Venezuela, quite simply, Diver's Paradise (as Bonaire's license plates boast).

Coral thrives along their underwater volcanic slopes, nurturing colonies of delightful color and beauty in waters clear and blue. Bonaire is the perfect place for shoreKids Sea Camp Bonaire, Where kids learn to dive and snorkel diving and most shore dive sites are marked by large yellow rocks with the name of the site stenciled on them. Divers will find ideal surroundings, shallow calm easy to dive sites just 30 feet from shore; seasoned scuba divers will find sloping walls, wrecks and reefs to fulfill their dive adventure expectations.

Buddy Dive is simplicity, its charming and very family friendly.
I love, that if I don't feel like getting on a boat with all the other divers first thing in the am, I can hang back and enjoy a later breakfast and coffee by the sea. Then when at my leisure jump off the dock with another parent or even my own kids and have just as good a dive as those on the boat. I can go at my own pace every day. No hustle no deadlines and no worries.
I love Bonaire because it’s easier on the wallet than most other destinations, and the service is very family friendly.
The food is a mix of fresh baked breads and buffets so no one leaves hungry. I have yet to experience any ocean front dining as amazing as the sunsets I dine behind at Buddy dive.

I love the home away from home feeling I have with the one, two or three bedroom villas, my husband and I have our own privacy and the kids enjoy their own space too.

Kids Sea Camp Buddy Dive has something for all ages, Adults go diving in the morning, kids have a host of activities from tubing, diving, snorkeling, photography, painting, kayaking and a treasure hunt. Non divers can relax and read a book, paint, kayak, bird watch, shop or take an Island tour to see the history and culture of Bonaire.

The weather in Bonaire is 99% Sunny and beautiful above and below. Jump off the dock ore off a boat and it’s mostly calm, clear and beautiful.
With Kids Sea Camp Bonaire here at Buddy Dive, we have Pizza and movie night under the big Thatched roof pool bar, live music on Friday nights and a host of slid presentations by SeaLife.

Afternoons are at your leisure to enjoy some amazing shore diving with your kids. Evenings are full of new friends, laughter and family time.
The kids Sea Camp group enjoys private boats, instructors and guides. The kids enjoy the same with a little more fun added with other activities as stated above.

I chose Buddy Dive because it’s a family owned, family operated and family focused PADI 5 star resort. The staff is kid friendly and both trained and experienced to teach and dive with kids.
The Dive shop is up-to-date with equipment and maintenance. The staff is medically trained and full service. Safety is #1 and fun is #2.

Add on to all of this a beautiful sunset cruise with cocktails and smoothies and some poetry and painting all hosted personally attended and hosted by Margo Peyton and family.

Your Buddy Dive instructor will receive your quizzes and test and be available to assist you as you learn on line. When
arrive in Bonaire, its water skills and pool skills and enjoying your new world as a PADI certified diver in beautiful Bonaire.
Moms and dads will have several days to dive with kids.

SASY program: ages 4-7
This is such a fantastic program in Bonaire. The little ones get lots of sun block and suited up in mini gear as they learn
all about the ocean and its critters. Treasure hunt, Donkey sanctuary to feed and even ride a donkey.
Painting fun and lots of pool and ocean time.

PADI Seal Team: Program Age 8+
This program gives kids that are 8 years old or older at the time the program starts, a sample of what its like to be a diver.
This is pure fun, no test! Kids will learn to do some basic skills, and learn how to use scuba gear through some fun activities called
Aqua Missions. In Bonaire, Seal Team kids also get to do a Salt Water dive at the Buddy Dock and schools of fish and log a real dive.
There are 5 missions to be completed along with a crew pack and certification that is provided.
Painting, treasure hunt and Pizza movie night are also apart of this great program in Bonaire.

Getting There - You can reach Bonaire via Miami, San Juan or Curacao. American Arilines is the best service. Most carriers allow 2 check-in pieces per passenger at 50 lbs each piece and one carry-on per passenger. A charge of $100 up to 70 lbs will then apply. We will be met upon arrival in Bonaire at the Airport after we pass through immigration and customs. A Buddy Dive Staff member will meet and greet you holding a Buddy Dive Sign.

Buddy Dive is located 8 km/5M north of the airport and about 3 km/2M north of the capital town of Kralendijk. Buddy Dive Resort is known for it's casual atmosphere, personable staff, spacious accommodations and a dive operation that has it all: Buddy Dive Resort, Bonairecomfortable boats, complete rental and retail center, exceptional staff, and a unique "Drive Thru" with a two-lane air/nitrox fill station. No matter which villa you are staying in, you're never further than a giant stride away from our popular and lively house reef which is perfect for diving and snorkeling, day and night.

1, 2 and 3 bedroom villas, hotel rooms and studios all have an ocean or garden view, and are comfortably furnished, to accommodate you, your family or friends. Each apartment has a fully furnished kitchen, spacious living area with cable TV, telephone, patio or balcony, air-conditioned and each room has its own bathroom with shower.

You will be met with a welcome drink for adults and smoothie for kids. Check-in, get comfortable, and we will meet at the pool bar for a Kids Sea Camp Orientation at 6 PM. You will meet camp staff and given program information. Kids Programs will begin on Sunday morning and run through the following Thursday for 5 days of activities the 6th day, Friday, is Family Day and you will enjoy time together snorkeling or diving.

You can start diving once you have checked in and completed your orientation dive. Bonaire Marine Park regulations require you to participate in an orientation program before you enter the water for your first dive. At Buddy Dive, this orientation is held each day. If your flight arrives in time for you to participate in either dive orientation, you can begin diving the day you arrive, and this would count as the first diving day of your diving package. Divers arriving on afternoon flights will attend orientation the following morning.

The diving schedule will be departures at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM, 2 boat dives each morning Sunday - Thursday, and Friday will be a Family Day dive. We have also Kids learn to dive and snorkel in Bonairescheduled a night boat dive on Tuesday night while your kids will be enjoying Pizza and a movie. *Please note that kids programs end at 2:30 PM, so if you chose a shore dive or an additional afternoon dive at 2:15 you will be responsible to make sure your kids are attended to. It should'nt be a problem as we are always available but it will need to be arranged with prior notice.

Equipment - Buddy Dive will provide all equipment for kids programs. Adults can bring their own gear or rental equipment is available from Wetsuits, fins, masks, snorkels, computers etc.

Water Temp - As a rule of thumb, you should expect the water temperature in the winter months to be between 75 - 78F degrees. Most people will find that they are most comfortable in the warm waters of Bonaire. The summer temperatures are about 80 - 85F degrees. During this period, most people can wear shorties, 2mm wet suits or dive skins with comfort.

For the most part, you can expect lots of sunshine with occasional clouds, and a beautiful trade wind breeze! In the winter, the average land temperature is 79 F (26 C), rising to an average of 82 F (28 C) in the summer.

Beach - Buddy Dive had two areas, with raised sand beaches and not at water level, although you can easily access the water via a ladder or steps, that leads to our protected swimming and snorkeling area.

Experience Kids Sea Camp on Bonaire and Buddy Dive Resort. An unhurried, unspoiled natural paradise offering spectacular sunsets, gentle breezes and crystal clear, turquoise waters. Buddy's is a resort where you can DIVE DIVE DIVE, take part in a multitude of activities or just sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

There are laundry facilities on the property - There is one washer and dryer available for guest use. The machines operate with tokens that can be purchased at the Front Office.

Is there a grocery store within walking - There is a small convenience store within walking distance, and larger grocery stores within a 5-minute drive.

Phones/Internet - There are phones in all of the apartments. The phone lines can also be used to access the Internet if you bring along your laptop. You will need a converter as Bonaire runs on 240W.

Climb into a rental truck available at a minimal cost to your package, and take advantage of the 60 dive sites, accessible from the shoreline.

Divers, Snorkelers, Adventurers and Leisure Travelers feel equally at home at Buddy Dive. You will want to save plenty of time to relax in a hammock, lounge by one of our three pools, simply catch some rays or saunter on down to the pool bar for a cocktail before sampling some of the local specialties.

3 Meals Daily are Included in Your Package - Breakfast is served buffet style each morning, eggs made to order, ham, potatoes, pancakes, fruits and cereal, along with local juices. 7AM -9AM.

Lunch is off the menu with a wide variety of foods from burgers to salads, pasta or fish. A special kids menu is also available from 1PM-2PM.

Dinner is also served off the menu with fresh daily seafood. Dinner is from 6:30PM - 10PM daily. Wednesday is the Buddy Dive Beach BBQ. Entertainment is provided. A special Farewell dinner is scheduled on Friday night.

We will say good-bye with a farewell dinner on Friday night. Some very nice prints will be given to each family and maybe an exchange of contact information for new found friends. A good nights rest and you will be transported to the airport on Saturday for your departure home.

We hope you will become part of our Kids Sea Camp Family for years to come as many of our kids begin as SASY snorkeled and then on to Seal Team and Certified Divers. We now have our Teen program filled with a generation of Kids Sea Camp Kids.
